OFF TOPIC: I need some help with a Massey Ferguson 283

Postby Tony Turner » Wed May 15, 2019 11:02 am

Guys, I'm working on a Massey Ferguson 283 (UK Tractor). I need some information out of a repair manual if any of you have one. There is a dinky needle bearing for the PTO shaft that I need to replace. It's about a foot in from the rear PTO shaft bearing. I'd like to know the "proper" procedure for replacing it.

Thanks,
Tony

Tony, I don't have a manual but know a former MF tech who is now self employed and has a mobile repair service. Let me know if you want his number. Nice guy and would welcome a call.

Thanks Steve... I'm getting a bit desperate to get the tractor back in the field. If you don't think he would mind talking to me I'd love to have his number. You may want to send it to me in a private message though.

Thanks for the offer.

Thanks for your help Steve. I couldn't get him on the phone but I was able to fix the tractor.
