Firing Order

Postby TractorNewbi » Fri Jul 28, 2006 7:01 am

Can someone help me out ? I have a Jet Star 3 Super and I need to know the firing order and what the pionts get set at. Thank you in advance for any help. Also would it be possible to convert it to electronic ignition? :!:

If there is not an an answer posted by this evening, I will look for the specs and make a second post. Darn job gets in the way of important things. Yes you can convert to elelecrtronic ignition. I looked at doing this several years ago. You can buy the kits on Ebay and other places. I have replaced the points on my JS3 Super only once in in over seven years and I am not sure that it reallly changed anything. It will start in all types of weather and runs great. Wires are my ongoing enemy it seems. Take care.

Spark plug gap is .022-.025. Points set at .022. Can't find the firing order in Operators Manual. Looked on tractor but can't see it displayed. Might be hidden by hood sheet metal on top. Someone on here surely knows. I think tune up specs are also listed on some sites. Good Luck.

From the I&T books I have all MM 4cyls use a 1 3 4 2 firing order. It would be a good place to start anyways.
