M5 locked up 336 diesel engine

Postby LMunsell » Sat May 02, 2020 11:22 am

I have a 1963 M5 that I loaned to a friend(yeah, I know ) for plowing his deer plots down here in Texas 5 years ago. It's been sitting for 4 years and I finally had enough and went and got it. I had to winch it onto the trailer because the engine is seized and the starter burned out trying to start it. Any suggestions how to break it free without taking the engine apart ? I thought about taking Marvel Mystery Oil and pouring it into the cylinders and then trying to break the assumed rust rings holding the pistons in place loose with either with a breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt or trying the rebuilt starter and cranking it. Any other suggestions or advice. :!:

PS. It ran perfectly when I loaned it to him.
