I have been working with my local NAPA store and Martin Senour to develop paint to match my existing Valspar PG2 and Energy Yellow tractors that are half painted. As of this time they have created an almost perfect match in the PG2 but the newer yellow is off a bit and they are redoing the formula. The formula"s I am having made are for NAPA'S premium paints, not the industrial enamels. Once completed I will have these formulas available for anyone to wanting to use NAPA paint from thier local supplier. These paint colors will match the original valspar paints from Equipmentcolor.com.

I have finalized a NAPA color for the energy yellow used on later MM tractors. We used the federal yellow color that was listed on the old paint color website and modified it to give it a bit darker color. After a number of trial batches we came up with what seems to be a close match using the paint tints that are available in todays market. The paint will be available at any Napa paint supplier. The paint formula to ask for is 55A-036M federal yellow modified. The paint formula will be availble in Napa's paint database as soon as the regional rep puts it on the site. The formula is listed below:

toner - color name - quart - gallon
CF130 MEDIUM YELLOW 523.6 , 2094
CF122 STRONG WHITE 590 , 2360
CF103 RED ORANGE 601 , 2404
CF212 5.0 URETHANE CLEAR 1022 , 4089

I have only sprayed a small sample and a test quart so far but it seemed to cover good with three coats, and has a good gloss. This is an automotive urethane emamel so it should hold a good gloss for many years.

Question to Dave, is it possible to get yellow to Van Sickel paint, the new yellow? I don't want the car enamel paint and I realy like the Van Sickel, but they don't have the darker yellow. I am restoring a 112 garden tractor foe myself and a Jet Star (1962) for our 2011 raffle tractor to be given away on October.
