power chip

I recently purchased a F250 7.3L. Thinking of putting in a power chip to improve mileage an shift points. Does this work?

Super chips makes a nice programer can program many different settings from tow safe to high performance.Can also set speedo for different size tires, and will also read trouble codeI teally enjoy mine.

How do you like that truck so far? I'm not a big fan of Fords but have heard good things about the 7.3. Been looking at some F250/350s with the 7.3 as a farm truck upgrade.

I really like this truck, but I've always been partial to Ford. I tried to post a picture, but I will have to learn how first.

I've got an older F 350 diesel, not a Powerstroke and have been considering an upgrade. I like Fords but my friends Dodge has me wavering. Any way, I'm looking but have been leary of buying anything that's been chipped, figuring thats a good indication its been used harder. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

I used to be a Ford guy till I got my first Dodge witj a cummins! You cant beat the torque and fuel milage of a cummins.Im a mechanic and have seen problem after problem with the powerstroke,especilly with the 6.4 and newer powerstroke tje 7.3 was the best of the bunch. The cummins is a stout engine and is alot like the g.m.350 easy and cheap to build. Hope I didnt offend anybody,the ultimate truck would be a Ford with a Cummins...j ust sayin

Some body told me Ford owns Cummins? If so why are they in the dodge?

Dodge has the contract on the cummins,and yeah ford does own cummins,not sure when that runs out

I really like my 2003 7.3. We pulled a 5th wheel trailer from Iowa to Florida (the trailer and truck weigh just under 18000). I set the cruise at the speed limit and let it go. There is a lot of 70 MPH between Iowa and Florida. We averaged 10.1 MPG. After we got down here I programmed it for mileage and just driving around here short trips, I've been getting a little over 17. The programmer I got is only good for mileage, so it was set to stock on the way down.
