Before I jump off this bridge, thought I'd ask for a rope. Anybody have any experience with propane powered trucks ? for local travel it can be fueled at home, same as a tractor, but how easy is it to find fuel when on the road ? I am tired of 3.89 diesel and when they filled the LP tank at 1.68/gal, the gears started grinding. Does
10 mpg for an 8.1 Chevy with an Allison, sound realistic ? any thoughts ?

The local Flying J Truck Stop has propane at least to fill RV tanks, saw them doing that. I am not sure if you can buy it for road use. Near downtown Abilene (Bus. US 83 exit) there is a sign on I-20 for alternate fuels that leads you to a LP dealer.

For now, the propane truck is on hold. Despite the high cost of diesel, its looks like a better choice for traveling any distance, then again how hard is it to find the urea diesel additive when you're out in the two lane parts of the country. Thanks.
